our story

In 2018 when I was pregnant with my son, I would regularly drive down to the nearest city to visit with my midwife. On one of those ordinary drives I wound up behind a truck carrying cotton and loose fluffs of cotton were blowing all about. Intrigued with child-like curiosity, I pulled over and experienced a profound moment of wonder. I found myself captivated by the journey of this fluffy goodness. Questions flooded my mind: Where does all this cotton go? How does it transform into fabric? And most importantly, the question that sparked my brand, is it possible to buy fabric made from this cotton?

Determined to find answers, I reached out to various organizations and individuals who could shed light on the matter. I contacted local universities, agriculture departments, and even county assessors. After numerous phone calls and emails, I finally connected with a woman who weaves rugs with local wool. She provided me with the contact information of an organic cotton farmer in my area who had been growing cotton for nearly three decades. To my delight, I discovered that it was indeed possible to purchase fabric made from the organic cotton he cultivated.

Fuelled by this revelation, I wasted no time and eagerly purchased my first sewing machine on eBay, despite having no prior sewing experience. My initial sewing experiment resulted in a set of reusable baby wipes for my little one. Enamored by their practicality, I began replacing single-use items around the house with handmade reusable alternatives.

Come 2019 my home was full of reusable products while my heart was set figuring out a way to spend more time at home with my little one. With a leap of faith, I listed my products on Etsy, filled with anticipation about the path this new venture would lead me on. To my surprise, I made my first sale within days, quickly recouping my initial investment. The positive response was immensely encouraging, and I realized I had stumbled upon something extraordinary.

Fast forward three years, and our brand has blossomed into a cherished name, having earned over 700 five-star reviews. What once started as a humble Etsy shop has now expanded to include our products on the shelves of small shops across the country. Here I am, wearing one of the many hats I wear for this brand, head of photography!

  • The product that started everything, reusable baby wipes! This is the original photo that was used for my very first listing on Etsy.

  • Here is my son in 2019 exploring the levers and dials of my sewing machine. My "studio" was this little corner of the living room. A desk and a dresser filled with a few yards of fabric.
